DTP is an important process that most of time follows the translation process, but sometimes also may come as a separate need. As an example, when translating a document or a content file from English (a left-to-right [LTR] language) to Arabic (a right-to-left [RTL] language), a lot of changes have to be made. The direction of the text and the whole document has to be inverted from left-to-right (LTR) to right-to-left (RTL). The text font has to be adjusted to one that fits the Arabic script. The numerals also may have to be changed from the Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3 …) to the Hindu numerals (١، ٢، ٣….).
On another level, the process also includes some aspects of graphic design and editing. Images with translatable texts undergo a multiple-phase process. First, files are scanned in order to spot images with translatable text. Then the text included in each image is extracted and transcribed individually. Following that, a new version of the image with the translated text is produced. And finally, we make any other changes needed and put the final touches to the newly produced image in order to look just original. In some cases, documents may contain data graphs or pie charts with information demonstrated, such cases are also processed using the related techniques.
